Projects at a glance

The Challenge

Turn varied client content into clear, polished pages across desktop and mobile.

Central Decision

Recompose hierarchy for each breakpoint instead of shrinking or mechanically stacking the desktop layout.

Outcome

Responsive pages shipped on public client websites within established design systems.

Working inside a real production system

At WORX, I worked within established agency and client systems. Assignments often began with approved direction, existing patterns, and real content; my job was to resolve the page-level hierarchy and carry it across breakpoints.
My Contribution

Designed selected pages and sections, created mobile layouts, produced supporting graphics, and revised work through handoff. I delivered the Home layouts for Vivax Medical, Waterbury PD, as well as mobile layout for Essex Trust, and more.

Constraints

Existing systems · variable client content · deadlines · stakeholder feedback · shared ownership · no access to internal working files after the role.

Decision 01 - Translate intent, not pixels

Why it Mattered

A desktop composition can lose hierarchy on a small screen if elements are only resized or stacked in place.

Decision

For Waterbury PD, I moved cards, changed image stacking, and rebuilt the Divisions grid so the mobile page preserved the same reading priority.

Effect

The small-screen experience retained the intended story and action path without imitating the desktop composition.

Decision 02 - Build hierarchy within the system

Why it Mattered

Client content rarely arrives in ideal lengths or proportions. The inherited components still need a clear page-specific reading order.

Decision

For Vivax Medical, I used content blocks to organize provided copy, then adapted the layout to mobile in order to tell the story content team prepared.

Effect

The page fit the established visual language while gaining a clearer hierarchy for its specific content.

Decision 03 - Extend the system across formats

Why it Mattered

Website and assets needed to feel related even when their dimensions, content, and viewing context changed.

Decision

Applied Essex Trust’s brand guidelines through considered icon placement, spacing, and consistent imagery, creating a clean banking experience that still felt warm and approachable for its older audience. Rebuilt the content hierarchy and layouts for mobile.

Effect

Created a cohesive, approachable experience that preserved Essex Trust’s brand across devices while making its financial content clearer and easier to navigate on mobile.

What proves the work

Because these pages were collaborative, the strongest evidence is precise attribution - not a metric I cannot isolate.
Contribution

Designed responsive desktop and mobile layouts within an existing design system, translating provided copy into clear page structures and visual hierarchy. Created custom iconography and sourced imagery to support the content.

Vivax Medical

Contribution

Created responsive mobile layouts within the existing design system, sourced imagery for nearly every page, and designed custom icons to support the website’s content.

Live Links

Essex Trust

Contribution

Sourced imagery that reflected Essex Trust’s brand while resonating with its audience of adults 40 and older, then restructured the content hierarchy for a clear mobile experience.

What I learned about production design

Responsive Work is Recomposition, Not Resizing

Creating mobile versions meant reconsidering hierarchy, grouping, reading order, and image placement - not simply stacking the desktop page. The goal was to preserve each page’s intended story within much tighter space.

Established Systems Still Require Judgment

The design system provided the visual foundation, but it could not make every page-level decision. I focused on content priority, composition, and applying existing patterns consistently across different client needs.

Resolve Ambiguity Before it Becomes Rework

I surfaced questions about client intent, content, and constraints before designing. Aligning early helped me avoid solving the wrong problem and reduced revisions caused by preventable misunderstandings.

Handoff is Part of the Design

I structured copy, imagery, content blocks, and documentation so developers could understand how a page should behave - not just how one finished frame should look.
